¿Quién es Pablo?
Pablo David Raxón es un muchacho residente en Piedra Parada, una aldea situada en la montaña que rodea la ciudad capital de Guatemala. Tenía 18 años cuando en 2017 solicitó una beca a la Asociación Tacaná para proseguir sus estudios de Bachiller en Ciencias de la Comunicación. Hasta ese momento había estudiado con buenos resultados en un colegio de atenciones especiales y necesitaba algo semejante para iniciar su carrera, ya que Pablo es invidente.
Tacaná aceptó el reto y junto con el apoyo de Proyso y otros pequeños colaboradores, comprometió unas ayudas dinerarias que, si bien no abarcaban todos los gastos previstos, podían ayudar en lo referente a las circunstancias y necesidades especiales, propias de una persona invidente.
Tras dos años de estudio y los correspondientes meses de prácticas, Pablo David se graduó a finales de 2019 con todos los reconocimientos y obtuvo las condiciones para acceder a la universidad.
Como punto final a esta ayuda y colaboración se gestionó a través de pequeñas donaciones la adquisición de un ordenador portátil adaptado a personas con discapacidad visual que acompañara a Pablo David y le facilitara su nueva etapa universitaria. La inesperada realidad del confinamiento por la Covid-19 ha demostrado doblemente la utilidad este recurso para Pablo ya que sin la ayuda de las nuevas tecnologías no le hubiera sido posible continuar sus estudios. Desde su humilde hogar Pablo nos da las gracias a todos los que confiaron en sus capacidades y le han dado la oportunidad de continuar formándose y estar en contacto con sus profesores y compañeros de estudios ¡Mucha suerte Pablo!
